Palais de Tokyo confirmed as exhibition venue
The Palais de Tokyo, Paris has been confirmed as the venue for the exhibition of short-listed nominations for the Prix Pictet 2008.
The exhibition will open on 30 October 2008 and the winner of the inaugural Prix Pictet will be announced at a gala dinner the same evening. The exhibition will run alongside a major exhibition of work by the 2004 Turner Prize winning British artist, Jeremy Deller.
Marc-Olivier Wahler, Director of Palais de Tokyo, who will also act as a member of the nominations panel for the Prix Pictet, says that the addition of the Prix Pictet to the Palais de Tokyo’s autumn schedule represents a ‘tremendous coincidence of vision – from Deller’s concern with the commonplace on a grand scale to the Prix Pictet’s search for an image capable of inspiring us all to take greater care of our planet.’
The Prix Pictet short-list exhibition will run from 30 October-8 November 2008.
