As part of the Prix Pictet Earth Commission exhibition, Madagascar – A Land Out of Balance, photographer Ed Kashi gave a talk about his practice via a weblink on Wednesday 21 April. Following the presentation, Kashi answered a range of questions about his work in general and – with Mark Jacobs, Director of the UK charity Azafady – about the Madagascar Commission in particular.
The event was chaired by Financial Times photography critic, Francis Hodgson, who was the chairman of the jury for Prix Pictet, Earth. This was the first time that the Prix Pictet has facilitated a public presentation by one of the shortlisted photographers and, given the positive audience response, it is likely that it will not be the last.
