Hrair Sarkissian uses photography to re-evaluate historical, religious or socio-political narratives.
Joined in conversation by Robert Leckie, Curator at Gasworks in London, Sarkissian discusses how he uses the codes of documentary photography while adopting a critical position towards the limitations of the medium.
This event is part of the Whitechapel Gallery’s talk series Prix Pictet Conversations on Photography, which provides a platform for leading contemporary photographers from around the world to discuss and present their practice.
