Simon Baker

Director, Maison Européenne de la Photographie

Simon Baker is Director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris. From 2009 to 2018 he was Tate’s first Curator of Photography and International Art. He joined Tate from the University of Nottingham, where he was Associate Professor specialising in the History of Photography. He has published on Surrealism, photography and contemporary art, and curated the exhibitions such as Undercover Surrealism (Hayward, 2006) and Close-up (Fruitmarket, 2008).
