Maryam Eisler is an Iranian-born, London-based photographer, editor and art patron.
Maryam Eisler was born in Tehran in 1968, and emigrated to Paris at age 10. She holds a BA in Political Science from Wellesley College (1989) and an MBA from Columbia University (1993).
Maryam is a trustee of the Whitechapel Gallery, an Ambassador for Unseen Photo Fair, sits on the advisory board of Photo London, also sits the advisory council of Delfina Foundation and is a nominator for the Prix Pictet photography prize.
Contributing Editor to LUX Magazine, she has additionally contributed both photographically and editorially to Harpers Bazaar Art, Harpers Bazaar Interiors, Vogue Arabia and Vanity Fair.
She has held Executive Editorial roles for several Thames and Hudson publications to include Sanctuary: Britain’s Artists and their Studios, Art Studio America: Contemporary Artist Spaces and London Burning: Portraits from a Creative City among many more. Her book, Voices: East London for which she is both author and photographer was published in November 2017.
Her photographic work is represented by London-based gallery, Tristan Hoare and NY-based gallery Harper’s Books . She has additionally shown at Photo London, at Unseen in Amsterdam and at The Dallas Art Fair.
